CHARACTER FUN FACTS: BRANDON CAVORMAY

“SOME LIGHTS ONLY SHINE IN THE DEEPEST DARK”

Brandon Cavormay is a colourful kid to say the least. Have you ever seen the tv show, I Love Lucy? In that show the character Ricky Ricardo is from Cuba. He speaks Spanish fluently and sometimes when he gets in an argument with his wife he’ll switch from English to Spanish. If you’re talking to Brandon, he might switch from talking to singing, especially if he gets too excited, which is all the time. Brandon is from a kingdom far to the south in the semi-tropical region of DarkCorner Land called Devonmay in the City of Heyvas Ivydames.
Two years ago, right before the aliens arrived, a mysterious dark illness spread through Devonmay. Brandon believed he was destined to be the one to find the answer. He claims it happened one night out in the valley when he saw a star shining brightly down on him. It may sound crazy, but when it comes to Brandon anything can happen. The secret seemed to be held by the mysterious opera singer who haunted the dark, twisted halls of the Caymisdorm. Brandon began to realize music was the key to finding the answer, and no one knows more about music than Brandon.

Before we get more into the aliens’ arrival, it’s time to reveal the last Mystery Challenge. The answer to which alien tower reveals a clue about how they can be defeated was this:

The massive, slim tower in brilliant neon green shimmering lights.

Before the aliens arrived, mysteriously, the Kingdom of Devonmay set up a ranking system for students, similar to what the aliens established. They had two rankings: BlackStar and GoldStar. BlackStar just meant you were failing in some way while GoldStar meant you were succeeding at the highest level. Brandon was ranked BlackStar because he struggles to focus in school. He likes to be active and can’t understand concepts the way they’re taught many times since they don’t use pictures or let him do projects that show how the concept works. He also likes drawing crazy pictures and writing his music during boring lessons. But it was his creative way of thinking that led him to begin solving the mystery of the dark illness.

Brandon likes to sing, and he likes to write symphonies. How do you write a symphony? I have no idea. Writing a symphony sounds way too complicated. Can you sing or write music? What’s it like? What kind of songs do you like to sing or write? Let us know in the comments below. How much are you like Brandon? Brandon has an interesting way of writing his symphonies. He’ll close his eyes and bob his head kind of hearing the music in his head for a long time. Sometimes it can last for hours. Then all the sudden he’ll get this crazed look in his eyes and write music lines and notes incredibly fast. He enjoys going to the music halls and listening to symphonies as well. For him, the louder and more explosive the music is, the better. Brandon and his friends explored the haunted Caymisdorm, outsmarting the dark spirits to find the clues hinted at by the Canday Prophecy. After awhile, Brandon began to put the pieces together, like the parts of a symphony.
Brandon has a lot of energy, and he’s kind of a morning person, but he dreads getting up early in the morning, even though he does anyway. When he finds out he has to get up early the next morning, he leans back, closes his eyes, and kind of lets out this strange groan that sounds like he’s dying, and he acts like he’s dying. But does he try to get to sleep early? No, not at all. He acts like he doesn’t have to get up early at all while he keeps trying to hit crazy shots on his miniature soccer goal in his room. Then the next morning he’ll basically fall out of bed, but then he gets pretty energetic and drinks coffee. Brandon’s favorite drink in fact, is coffee, and he likes to stir it pretty much every time he takes a drink. No one really knows why. If you ask Brandon, he’ll tell you it’s all part of the symphony. He says every person is a symphony, you can’t just look at a few of their instruments, but see how they all play together to find out who someone really is.

Brandon Cavormay used his skills in putting together symphonies to succeed in finding the answer for the dark illness in Devonmay. The key was, you have to follow the light that shines in the deepest dark. But they didn’t have the final answer until they heard the opera singer sing in the Caymisdorm. Then it became clear who she really was. The aliens invaded soon after. The alien messengers told the people about their plans to take power over all the kingdoms and schools. When they were done speaking, the crowd dispersed. Brandon began to leave for home as well, when an alien messenger and three tall, slender aliens in dark blue suits up to their stretched faces surrounded him. Brandon stared wide-eyed at the aliens with their white shining, crescent moon shaped eyes. The alien messenger then told Brandon in an elevated, solemn voice, “We’ve been watching you. We know what secrets you have been looking for in the Caymisdorm. We know you discovered the hidden secrets. Now, you will tell us…”
